After two weeks I’m getting the hang of my work schedule again, which means lots of food and bike packing in the morning, paired with cleaning in the evening. Lots of you out there do this and more, and some of you do this with children – that’s amazing.
My mind went on hiatus for two weeks when I returned to work. All I wanted to do was ride my bike, eat and read after the work day was finished. I don’t think my laptop was on for more than eight hours the entire time. It was nice.
But I missed working with bicycles photos and stories. Good stories are on the way. Many of them are local foodies, riders, builders and artists. I’m excited to tell their stories and also challenge my photography skills. As evident from my posts and Bike Photo Friday! pictures, I’m used to taking photos without people.
These photos are from Muenster, TX on the way back home from Bar H mountain bike trail. Muenster is a German town with great beer and brats (For you North Texas people, Kuby’s has the town beat though). This antique store was just off the main road. Read the rest of this entry →

It’s a drizzly Friday morning in Dallas. Mom is back home after visiting for a few weeks. Local trails are all wet, so the running shoes are on standby. I’d rather be pedaling, but both the dry, cracked trails and I can use a break.
Thanks to the second tropical depression hitting Texas, there’s rain in the forecast all weekend. I can guarantee that I spend a lot less time running than biking, so I’ll use the extra hours to play catch up. There are local gardeners, a coffee roaster, painter and cross-country cyclist to feature.
Bike Photo Friday! showcases the last of Dave’s photos from the Dirty Kanza 200. Scroll down for the antique tandem close-up.
If you see sunshine, get out there and bike for those of us who can’t.

I missed Bike Friday! Work was tiring. Hoorah! I am not complaining about long workdays, but I did turn in at 9:00 PM. So this week Bike Friday will be enjoyed this Sunday.
I met the most interesting woman in Mineral Wells, Texas. This is her bike:
