Uncomplicating Goals

Yesterday I received a compliment from my hairdresser that took me a little by surprise.  She said that I am not afraid to jump into new things, and that I always follow through, even if I don’t know what’s going to happen.  WOW!  That is an awesome description, and I am going to work on owning it.

She is correct in stating that I try new things, but following through is complicated. There’s a lot of self doubt, hard work, back-sliding, quitting my goal only to take the goal back up again.  The only part she sees in the before and after.  I sit down in her chair and we talk about what’s coming up.  The next time I am in I tell her how it went.

I think it should be that simple in my mind, too.  Set a goal, stick with it, deal with the fact that it’s going to be a lot of work, and follow through.  Piece of cake.  Sounds so simple.  Maybe if I didn’t make the process so complicated I’d enjoy it more.

Thanks to my hairdresser for covering up my roots and uncovering a new thought process!
